Today, our class took a field trip to Legoland. At Legoland, we were able to see a 4D movie, ride on some rides, play in the indoor playground, play at the water table, and attend a class on force and motion, where we built our own tops out of legos! We are now Legoland Engineers! See the pictures below of all of the fun we had!

On Friday, the first grade classes attended their field trip at LegoLand. The kids were SO excited! It was a very, very fun field trip that included hands on areas, rides, an indoor playground, a 4-D movie, a pizza lunch, and a Science class on tall towers and structures. In the class, the kids were broken up into groups and had to use team work to build the tallest tower. After building their first tower, they were taught why it is important to build a secure structure and how to do so. They then were given a second chance to not only build a tall tower, but use what they were taught to make it secure. Friday's field trip was definitely a memorable one.
It was the day that we were waiting for all year.... our Brookfield Zoo Field Trip! Prior to our trip, we had been learning about animal families. We read books, watched videos, had partner talks, created a book, and broke into research groups to look up facts about individual animal families. The students loved learning about this topic. There were a lot of pictures taken on this fun filled day, so enjoy the pictures below.
Today, Ms. Riplinger's class and all of the other first grade classes were able to attend the zoo! We have been busy learning about all of the different animal families and their animal coverings this fall and were so excited to finally be able to see all the different kinds of animals! The students couldn't contain their excitement and they were shouting about everything they saw through the day! See all of the pictures below from our very exciting day!
Yesterday, was a day our first graders have been waiting for... our field trip! We got to go see a play- a unique experience for most first graders! All students absolutely LOVED it! One student even shouted onto the stage, "I love you guys. You guys are so funny!".
Before the show began, we played a fun game of telephone, I-Spy, and even pretended like we were sleeping! :) See below for a few of the fun moments the first graders experienced! |
